First of all, I don't think I ever need SIM, but since I'm driving everyday to work, so my husband keep telling me to make one. Its for your own safety. Who knows if your having a lauzy days, and the police might caught you because you miss read road sign.
So, I decided to make it.
I do have SIM, but it was expired for almost 2 year, and it was SIM from Bekasi. Right now, I am having KTP (Personal ID) from DKI. So, after consultation, they said I should make new SIM from DKI. So I go to Daan Mogot instead of Kapolres Bekasi.
Eventually process of making new SIM is very complicated ..hehehe.. "like status on Face Book".. because we need to do written test and driving test. After each test we must wait for the result in order to go for the next test.
Written test consist of 30 multiple choice A,B,C (you must pick one the right answer) . Passing grade is if you have 18 right answer. If you only have 17 right answer, you still have to take Re-test , 2 weeks from now.
Driving Test only can be taken if we have pass from written test.
If you are fail on written test, you should go home and go back 2 weeks after to have the same test.
The cost of making SIM?
1. For start, you must get form for eye medical check up for 15rb
2. Then, you must get your KTP copied for 2rb (4 pcs)
3. You paid 25rb for insurance
4. You paid 75rb for written test form
5. You paid 15rb for driving test form
Totally you have to paid 142rb. This is the official cost of making SIM in DKI. With long time waiting through the rest of the process. With arguing and complaining with human error.
But, here comes additional cost you have to pay, If you don't pass written test, you have to pay 300rb to the police officer to get your grades up to 18.
Or, if you find police officer in front of gate, asking you question whether you want to make new SIM with fast process (of course, you still have to undergo written test for formality) with the cost of 450rb totally.
Or, you can ask in cashier, while you buy form for written test, you can just ask, hoe much the cost if you want to make the process more quick, is 450rb totally.
So, which one you prefer ? Its up to you hehehe... |
